ACCELERATE TO ATTACK SPEED: Military Science Fiction

Military SF/F authors have kept readers at the edge or their seats by incorporating wartime experience and strategies of armed conflict into the far-future and alternate history worlds they create. Not since Luke Skywalker blasted the hell out of the Death Star have we seen such interest in war-inspired science fiction and fantasy. Perhaps a sign of the time we’re in (and whatever might be said, we all bow before Scalzi’s influence) people just want books about good guys defeating unfriendly space invaders and plausible visions of a future military. May the force be with everyone in the audience as Taylor Anderson, Jack Campbell , and Myke Cole, fire up their ammo and discuss this Semper Fi friendly subgenre of popular fiction.

Room 1A02

MODERATOR: Ginjer Buchanan, executive editor Berkley/NAL

I’m not sure Eduardo. I’m afraid I’m only scheduled for Saturday. I’ll have to double check my flight times.

I look forward to seeing you in Portland on the 4th! Just started reading the series (and unfortunately started on “Crusade”) and look forward to reading every volume. Great story, and great characters! Please advise me on other stories to explore. Maybe some of your favorites? Inspirations? Really hope to make it up to see ya. Good luck and safe travels.

  4. On October 04, 2011 Bill Ayers says:

taylor, will Firestorm be available as an audiobook down load from audible like your previous books?

  5. On October 07, 2011 Wil Wagner says:

    Taylor,
Which base exchange will you be at on 8 Oectober? There are 4 Navy exchanges here. Only 2 are major. I assume 32nd Street Naval Base, but want to be sure. Thanks.

Atlanta! You must come to Atlanta! I just finished Firestorm… read it all this past Saturday, on my couch, with the window open and a cool breeze rolling in.

Was especially pleased to see my Woolly Titan get a cameo!

I need to shake your hand, sir.

    Atlanta.

Thanks Eben. You liked that, huh? More to come! He! he!

I’d LOVE to come to Atlanta and shake your hand. Don’t know where I’ll be after New York. I (just now) got in from San Diego! Hey, I DID give you a mention in this book–or the last–didn’t I? If I didn’t, I will.

  8. On October 12, 2011 Eben Bradstreet says:

Nope, no mention of me in the last two books. It would have been in acknowledgments section, yeah?

  9. On October 19, 2011 Terry Edmunds says:

So very thoroughly enjoyed Firestorm. What’s the schedule from here? Any visits to the midwest in the future? Next book??? Anyhow, nice to see the good guys win. You really have a feel for the code of the warrior. Just so very satisfying…and P-40 was my very first model as a youngster so love seeing it becoming a major player in the Destroyermen.
