The release date for Book Four in the Destroyermen series is fast approaching!
June 1st is right around the corner, and if you haven’t pre-ordered, Amazon.com has the hard cover for only $16.47 USD! Clicking on the cover to the left will take you to the page!
For the audiophiles out there, excellent news for fans of William Dufris. Not only has he read Distant Thunders for us, but the audio book will be released simultaneously with the hardcover on June 1st!

YYYYYEEEEEESSSSS!!!!
I can’t wait!!!
Thank you Taylor!!!
Will there be a Kindle edition released concurrently?
Unless Amazon and Penguin settle their differences, I am doubting we will see a the Publisher is Roc, a Penguin name, and the last few big Roc releases (SM Storling, Stookie Stackhouse, etc.) haven’t been released on Kindle.
As soon as i saw this I had to re-read the orignial trilogy just so that I would be up to date. Also started buying up paperbacks of Into the Storm as gifts so more folks can catch the Destroyermen bug
Already preorder this one, can’t wait to see what they do to Walker with all the goodies off Amagi!
Awesome! cant wait. Must save money………..
I preordered Distant Thunder through Barnes and Nobel on Sunday for June 1, and yesterday I got a notice that it was ready to ship. Just finished Maelstrom Saturday. Really enjoying the series.
And amazingly enough it came today. Will be starting it tonight. I’ll try not to blow the surprizes…
I’m very excited for this book! I enjoyed the first 3 books so much and I am looking forward to new adventures.
And YAY for William Dufris! I love his reading abilities, so I will most likely get the audiobook.
thank you Taylor!!
Is the audio book going to be on sale at audible.com? If anyone knows that is. The only reason I found this series is because of that web site and I’d like to stay loyal to them and buy it from them.
cant wait to listen to it
I just read “Thunder” as the first one to check it out from our library here in Glen Ellyn Illinois.
Brilliant!!! Not as much action as the first three but
the plot and characterizations with the twist of the
un-determined loyalties of the English mariners was
a page truner!
Can’t wait for Part Five!!!!!
When is part 5 coming out? Can’t wait!
Any idea when audible will start making your books available to UK Customers? I’m dying listen to the 3rd installment but for some reason I can’t get it from audible.co.uk and the US site won’t let me buy it from them. It baffles me that they don’t seem to want my custom. Is there any way you can help?
I’ll be happy to send money direct if someone will sell the audiobook.
Just finished Distant Thunders. Outstanding!! The only thing I didn’t like was when I got to the end and realized I have to wait another 6 months before I can read more of this great story. Fantastic job Taylor. Keep them coming.
Bravo Zulu.
Going to say as a science fiction fan, I love it. Bought and read all three books inside of a week, in the middle of a move to my new station (San Diego) no less. Going to have to pick up Distant Thunders prior to sailing with my ship to distant stations.
As above, Bravo Zulu! Can’t wait to see what’s next!
I just finished Distant Thunders and loved it…… Can’t wait til the next one comes out.
Just read D.T. it was awesome. I have only one problem…….when is the next one due i need it bad!
of course i had it preordered, ive been a fan to the degree that after the first foray with a paperback copy of”into the storm”i bought all copys in hardback.
distant thunders takes the story to a whole new level and i recomend it to anyone into sci-fi or even adventure.
i eagerly await the next book!
question to taylor;are you or have you ever built a”whomper”?
a friend was going to make a wheel-lock useing a surplus vulcan barrel but got sidetracked.perhaps a surpluse gau8 barrel(1.20 caliber lol)
id shoot it with a light powder charge, once.
Thanks to all here! I keep forgrtting to check this!
Eric, indeed I have–sort of. I have bult a .100 caliber British “sea service” “Wall” gun or “rampart” gun, complete with swivel yoke, etc. Built it for a bomber pilot buddy! I’ve also built a fair number of large blunderbusses. I am going to build “Silva’s” Doom Whomper–now that I have aquired a suitably large (and long) section of gain-twist “rifled stock.”
Just finished Distant thunder and I agree with you, John Winther. Six months to continue. Long time to wait. But best series I’ve read in years. And that includes The ‘Winds of War’. Keep ‘em coming, Taylor!
i knew from reading that you made something large diameter before.
a 4guage wallgun amazeing!would’nt be too nasty with a swivel mount either.i once handled a 4ga double rifle at wesley richards back when it was hq’ed in springfield.the rounds looked like apache 30mm chaingun ammo.
hope you keep us gun cranks posted on your adventures with
silva’s toy.
and if you’re ever in sw missouri i have access to this old qaurry,,,
I have been an avid reader, pretty much my entire life (not going to say how old, but I got grand children), and I have to say I would place these series of books at or near the top of my all-time favorites. Taylor does a fantastic job of sucking you into the story, you feel the emotion, horror, love, and even the spray of the sea. The whole time I was reading this books I wondered what I would have done in the same situations (probably screamed like a girl and ran). I am with the rest here, can’t wait for the next installment!!
Thoroughly enjoyed DT. I go the audiobook route and it really is a consuming experience. Fantastic job giving Silva a starring role in his own story line.
Taylor’s books are easy to spot on the bookshelf in my office also. Come on Febuary!
